It depends which vet you see, and also which species you're seeking help for. At best quite good, but high prices and written prescription charges at over 18 for each item for each animal; for example one animal, three medications plus prescription only flea treatment requires four separate written prescription charges at well over 70 total.My low average rating is due mainly to the lack of compassion and questionable advice in one instance, which when queried caused a disproportionate and inappropriate reaction, my goodness don't they close ranks!I have lost confidence in this practice but I'm stuck until I can find an alternative.

Pilgrims is a lot more than I expected from a vet in a village this small. They have helped me with everything from ear infections to tumors to euthanising and cremating my best friend when his kidneys failed. We brought two dogs with us from the States three years ago, and the vets at Pilgrims helped us get EU passports for them to travel to France. They taught me the differences in worming between countries, and they have kept up the regular thyroid treatment for my girl dog. They do all of this with the compassion and personal attention I wish I could find in a human doctor. I would whole-heartedly recommend them to anyone for their quality of care and the customer service with which they deliver it. Thank you to everyone from the vets to the front desk to the nursing staff. You are fantastic!
