I have been having piano lessons with John for some time now. He is extremely patient and very knowledgeable and makes you want to keep on learning. I would highly recommend John for piano or guitar tuition.
I have studied piano and guitar with John since 2015, and from the very first lesson I gained in confidence as a musician. I have developed skills in jazz, folk and classical music since working with John. Musical theory, which I have always found particularly difficult to grasp, finally makes sense and has become much more enjoyable; this is because John teaches it in a way that is understandable and relevant.John has a lifetime of experience as a pianist and guitarist and is an accomplished performer in a variety of musical genres. I have developed skills in jazz, folk and classical music since working with him. Johns teaching is excellent, he has enormous patience, and each lesson is bespoke, thoughtfully prepared, and flexible enough to accomodate my individual needs as a learner. Lessons are calm whilst being highly focused, they reflect my musical interests and are appropriately suited to my ability. I end each lesson feeling that I have achieved something.John is dedicated, encouraging and professional, a superb music teacher - highly recommended.
Having never played an instrument before now i thought it was time i tried my hand at acoustic guitar. I searched online and John popped up as local and reasonably price. I easily arranged my first lesson to a time that suited me and we were off. John is a very welcoming and friendly gentleman who clearly has a wealth of knowledge within music and is an experienced player of acoustic and electric guitar as well as piano. I instantly felt at ease in his presence and he wanted to know about myself, my background with music and my tastes. He devised an easy to follow lesson and we talked about my tastes in music, so that i could learn songs that i had an interest in and would understand. He even threw in homework for me to go and learn, practice and show off upon my next lesson. I would throughly recommend John to anyone! He is willing to work just as hard as you are and the lessons are tailor maid to suit. Overall i feel at ease, not intimidated and the lessons are very intimate so you are the main focus.
